Greenalls

Promotional Video

Greenalls were looking to blend their heritage as a brand with innovating Gin in the modern market. The brief was to represent this through a fusion of classical music and hi hop.

Client: Greenall’s Gin
Project Title: “Thomas Dakin”

Objective:
This project aimed to create a sophisticated and immersive soundscape that honors the rich history of Greenall’s Gin. The sound design needed to reflect the heritage and craftsmanship of the brand while capturing its evolution over time. Lambda Films’  goal was to emphasise the tradition, quality, and timeless appeal of Greenall’s, conveying the story of its origin and its place in the gin-making industry.

Music Integration:
The music for this commercial played a key role in setting the tone of the brand’s history. We selected a classical and elegant track that conveyed the long-standing tradition of Greenall’s Gin. The music had a flowing, timeless quality, incorporating orchestral elements that aligned with the brand’s sophisticated image. As the commercial progressed through different historical moments, the music subtly evolved, reflecting the journey and growth of Greenall’s over time. The transitions in the music mirrored the passage from the past to the present, blending elements of heritage with modernity, symbolizing how Greenall’s Gin continues to honor its legacy while remaining relevant today.

The track’s dynamics were carefully timed to match the pacing of the visuals, rising during key moments of discovery or celebration and calming during reflective moments. The combination of orchestral and contemporary textures allowed the commercial to feel both classic and current, resonating with a broad audience.

Sound Design Approach:
The sound design worked to enhance the visual storytelling, emphasizing key moments without overshadowing the music. For historical flashbacks, ambient sounds were used to evoke different time periods—gentle sounds of nature for the early days, the faint clink of bottles and glass for the evolution of production, and subtle background murmurs to suggest the passing of time.

Tone and Style:
The overall tone of the sound design was elegant, timeless, and refined, mirroring the heritage of Greenall’s Gin. The sound complemented the narrative of the commercial, evoking a sense of craftsmanship and tradition while still feeling fresh and modern.
